Why STOP?

The dangers of smoking are well documented, and it is a fact that smoking will directly kill one in ten adults on the planet, at a rate of almost 4 million deaths a year! But as a smoker, you already know this. And because our mission is not to beat up on the smoker, but rather offer a painless alternative, we document the shocking list of diseases and ailments caused by smoking in the section “Smoking Facts”.

But aside from the alarming evidence of the harm smoking causes, even to light or occasional smokers, all smokers are becoming increasingly aware of the social stigmas attached to the habit, the increasingly limited areas in which one may light up, the having to huddle outside the door for a puff, and the total absence of glamour that smoking perhaps offered in the past.

Also, worldwide, governments are raising taxes on smoking, to the extent that the average smoker pays across serious money each month which literally goes up in smoke!

So, at least in the Western world, the trend is towards lighter cigarettes, nicotine replacement therapy, electronic cigarettes and ultimately, quitting the habit altogether. And large numbers of smokers, most of whom have tried quitting on several previous occasions, are achieving success the Beyond Nicotine way, emerging with a new self worth, a healthier body and respect from friends and family. In our programme we have an affirmation, a mantra really, which says:
