Dear H20, unfortunately it’s a bit like eating chocolate when dieting – it just ain’t gonna work…you have to really stop, throw the cigarettes away & then start taking the capsules… otherwise you won’t get the benefit of the cravings going. Big part of this journey is that you make up your mind to quit, and really get cigarettes right out of your world…don’t eat/drink things or do activities that trigger the habit of lighting up… – throw those ciggies AWAY AWAY! good luck…
Dear Janine, the detox process is underway – you’re getting a good old clean out it seems. You could cut back on the green caps if the nausea continues. They tend to do the cleaning job – yes clearing the liver & lungs… also too many grapes can initiate a detox…but know that it’s for the good. Just moderate, stay alert & aware to what sets off which responses… you’re doing good!!!
Hi…someone please help , I am on my 2nd card of pills and my cravings have not decreased a bit since I started (12 days !!) How long is it supposed to take as I am probably smoking more now than I have before starting the pills ! Please help !
hey – again thanks for that – i am now starting to eat grapes = plently of grapes – yeah reading is good but thats when i used to enjoy a cig the most getting involved in a book with my cigs
i must say a BIG thank YOU to you for your support – i really appreciate it – this is now day 3 for me – this morning i was really nauseus and vomitted (excuse me) twice – is this normal? sorry didnt mean to get so gross – thanks
Hey hang in – the first 4 days are really hard as the body goes cold turkey without it’s fix – thereafter it’s the habits…so try and find other distractions for night time if you find that the hardest time…I got really involved in a compelling series of books and then got into drinking lots of water and green tea ….but other people say jelly babies did the trick. I guess you just have to find what works for you.
ok – all you people out there
why is this so much more difficult at night
i seem to manage fairly ok during the day but at night oh my word-i am really craving a cig – but know i cant – its been a day and half – i know – so soon but if you can all do this then so can i – also 2 packs a day for over 20 years – tomorrow morning at 7h45 will be 2 whole days – when is this going to gte easier??
hey Freedom
thanks a mill – i really needed that – i am so grateful
thank you – this is really hard but i know i can do this
Hey Janine, hang in! breathe into those cravings, use the lip balm, you’re going to get through this one! every day every hour is one step closer to liberating yourself from something that no longer serves you.
someone pls respond
having a bad one right now
lets chat if possible
hey – today is my first day – its been 8 hours and i am haning in there
any new people to this – pls let me know how you are feeling
having a slight meltdown but this will pass
all and any comments from new people who are doing this will be most welcome
thanks
I am tired of this secret life. I started smoking when i was just 12, when my mum found that pack of 10 in my school bag i immediately stopped in fear. I started again when i was on my own at 18 and have not put them down since. Only a handful of people knew of my habit, i kept it so secret even from some friend, boyfriends, workmates, churchmates and obviously the elders in the family. Over the 10 years i have had kids and i smoked through out my pregnancies. I knew it was wrong but i guess i was in denial of the impact… Last week my baby was unwell and had a chest infection, and this got me in tears and i said enough is enough, i need to take control of this stupid , wasteful, stinking habit not only for my benefit but also for my children’s wellbeing.
Today is my first day, i last smoked 12 dec at 10pm. This is my game- This is enough, I am taking back my power, I am who i want to be and i am committed… he is to freedom to socialise, freedom to be me, freedom to be healthy, freedom to be honest, freedom to look and feel great… Cheers and thumbs up to us all.
8 months now! I have no cravings, I am a lot more active, food tastes great and I have a lot more energy than I used to. All this for less than a couple of packs, thank you Beyond Nicotine. I can easily sit in the company of smokers and not even want a cigg. I recommend this to everyone I know who is thinking of quitting. For the rest who are just starting, it gets easier every day, so just take it one day at a time and you will kick it for good!
Awesome program! Really works. Ive tried everything, but yours is really tackling the problem. Forces you to go through your addiction step by step and help you figure out why you started…
Why dont you add a link on TWITTER OR FACEBOOK…wanted to tell some of my friends about you guys but could find anything..
remember the body only craves the nicotine for about 4 days..so you’re still in the thick of it…but hey but soon you’ll be over the worst body pangs! then it’s the road to you seeing yourself differently… listen to the CD, use the lip balm…and hey you are so much more worth it than being a slave to cigarettes! I guess the reason everyone sounds a bit positive on the blog is cause they find this programme so effective.
Started at 7 on Sunday evening (18 Sept)- so only a day and a half. All of a sudden got a huge craving at about 2 today where my mouth started watering and I came very close to getting in my car and going to find a “loose” cig. Not very ladylike to an old girl ! I have really, really got to do this this time – been smoking for forty-something years.
Everyone sounds so positive – when does it start getting better?
Tis now 50 days(one for each year of smoking!)…Beginning to think I have got it licked….well done the “Beyond Nicotine” programme.
Day 43 and going strong….the worst has to be well in the distance behind tho, completely out of the blue, I get the odd feeling “its time for a fag”…doesn’t last more than a few seconds when I give my subconscious a quick blast! I reckon I’m well on the way to success.
Into day 22 and all in order….cravings very few and far between…..definate improvement in circulation in hands and feet as much warmer even in the freezing weather we have experienced recently….I am beginning to think I may be on the way to winning this battle!
well done on quitting! if you’ve managed to quit after a lifetime of smoking…suffice to say that you must be so pleased to be free from the addiction….so will you really need capsules to sustain your strong sense of self now post puffing? You can purchase a top up pack of capsules but don’t replace one crutch with another – know your worth, know your strength and stick to it! the capsules are only one aspect of giving up – the rest has been your own doing, so pat yourself on the back and stick to the new you.
Day 14 and cravings have dropped off almost completely….what happens after the pills run out tomorrow….I have to admit that it has been much easier than I thought after 50(Ya, thats right, fifty) years on the weed….so long ago that I can’t remember what it was like to be a non-smoker so its a real “new experience”…may it last for ever.
Just over 4 months! I will never smoke again. I have no cravings, I don’t think about it any more and my fiancée is now on a month also not smoking. To al the new quitters, it is scary and definitely difficult, but if you can get to two month without smoking there will never be a reason for you to start smoking again. Be strong, be persistent and most of all, you have to be tough on yourself. It is all worth it I can guarantee you.
i’m scared. i’m fearful. i bought the product on friday and decided… TODAY. i kept that decision. but i don’t know if i was right. maybe (i say) i should have waited. i still crave
Day three and all going… well, its all going:) I could gladly have traded one of my children for a puff yesterday but fortunately the feeling didn’t last long. So I am not children free but WHOOPEE….I am cigarette free. What a glorious feeling.
One of the first things I have noticed is no more disgusting smell hovering over me.
When I cam home after listening to Frederic on Saturday morning, I ceremoniously lit up a cigarette….had an intrapersonal conversation with it, extinguished it and then broke every one left in the pack…..right at the filter (just in case I went grovelling through the bin in a few hours time)
I am taking each day by day….it has helped that I have just met a really nice guy who doesn’t smoke and doesn’t even know I did….I must share with you….it’s not easy to meet new people at the best of times – being a smoker made it 100 times harder.
Here’s to a wonderful new day
Morning peeps.
today is my first day. i am nervous and yet excited at the same time i cannot wait for the end result. just a shame i bought 2 packs of smokes yesterday. all well i will sell them to someone here at work. lol. and the best thing is that i am starting with my strict healthy diet on monday again so ill be an x-smoker and a x-tubby. YAY ME. goodluck to all of you still busy with the program and congrats to those who have completed the program sucessfully. i will be putting the cd’s content on my phone tonight so i can listen to it whenever and wherever i can. cheers for now. i will keep you guys posted. and thank you
Hey Tumo,
Great to hear that you are still going strong! it’s a daily choice – to vote for yourself & your well being. and yes it’s knowing you are free from dependency.
It has been nearly 2 months since I have had my last cigarette. I feel very healthy and good and no longer crave a cigarette, but I do find myself thinking about it sometimes. There are still days that I think, why not, just one. But I know that would just be plain stupid. Advice I can give you is that it gets easier every day, not by a lot, but it does. When you pass a month you will really stop missing it. Just be strong and don’t buckle, because you are stronger than your addiction. If it was easy, no one would smoke. It’s worth it!
the thing with those cravings are really to redirect your energy. some people say that cinnamon & a teaspoon of honey help those evening ones…but breathing is the very best. it gives you a long term resource not only to overcome cigarette cravings but also stress wobbles and any other needy behaviours
Hi everyone, a message from Holland (yes, a very small country in Europe) – I have been on the programme for 17 days now and haven’t touched a cigarette since, but I must say it’s very hard. Every day it’s a little bit better, but especially during the evenings and nights I experience a lot of cravings. I noticed that the breathing exercises are very helpful as well as the ‘working sheets / exercises’ in the book. Together with some Rescue (herbal calming product) I can survive…..
Hi All. I being smoking from last 8 years and now it was happening to be a chain smoking with hands everytime shaking. Everybody told me stop it and i tried too but nothing happened.I just bought the 15 days trial pack yesterday from Dischem – Johannesburg. Though when i can spend Rands300-400/mth on smokes than lets try out this beyond nicotine product. Frankly speaking while having first dose i though no it will not work and after an hour when i had my ciggrate it was my mind saying have it but my body was not feeling ok. Even today i took 1 dose before leaving to office and its being 2 hrs my body is not accepting the ciggrate.
Definitely i will take dose continosuly and hope so i will stop smoking.
So I’m well into my 6th month and i’m feeling strong-willed and confident. Thanks to my new ‘game’ I am able to go anywhere and do anything without having to have a cigarette before, after and in-between. Yes, that smoke before a movie, or a smoke after a big meal. And, that smoke during a good cup of coffee. All that’s changed is my descision to not light up. And I have never felt more reselient. Each new day I grow more into my new self and feel better both mentally and physically. I hope this reaches out to people in need and gives them some sort of motivation to make this small but life changing descision. Be beyond it.
3 Weeks! And it is getting easier and easier. Had a nice braai on the weekend and thought if I drank any alcohol that I wouldn’t be able to prevent myself from smoking. Drink I did and properly as well and the only time I really wanted to smoke was after we ate. But still, no cigarette has touched my lips in 3 weeks. This sound a bit repetitive, but cigarettes actually stink pretty bad and ashtrays even worse. I can’t believe I went to meet clients smelling like that. Just another week and I will be over the big hump!
Congrats to all the new non-smokers. Keep blogging and letting the rest of us know your story. The commmunity is growing and stopping smoking has never sounded more inviting. Help out a close friend or relative by sending them here to see our stories. Or better yet, buy them a kit and ask them to try it. The course will do the rest. Beyond nicotine is a great way to live.
Two weeks smoke free!
Hi Freedom, many thanks for the kind words. I am officially on my 7th day, is the worst over? I honestly feel great, it’s almost like I have an extra spring in my step. Sure I still get cravings and but they are gradually getting further apart. I would say my best experience so far is that when I wake up in the mornings I feel wide awake, something I haven’t felt in years. I had no Idea that it was actually the cigarettes that made me feel like a zombie in the morning. A week doesn’t sound like much, but I feel that I have come far and with a bit more determination I will kick this habit for good.
Well done – it takes real courage & what the heck you’re a million times better off without the dependency. A friend of mine who quit smoking many years ago to this day still crosses his arms and pats himself on the shoulder with one hand just to congratulate himself when he sees other smokers. You have a lot to be proud of and the mind conviction will see you through the possible tough moments in the future. Enjoy the FREEDOM! I love every moment of it! Quitting smoking means I can face any challenge…so bring them on!
Today I have reached the three month mark. The cravings are so minimal. It is almost as if I was 3 years without smoking. Mentally it has been difficult and the excercises that I completed through the course have given me strength in times of extreme weakness. Also I’m cntinually feeling healthier and less exsausted. I have way more energy than before and have a new found appreciation for smokeless enviroments. All in all this has been the greatest experience for the body, mind and soul and the rewards are endless. Life has ultimately become more enjoyable.
Day 2 – No more chest pain and feel rather good overall especially my breathing. The cravings though are hectic, the breathing exercise seems to work for me. Magsnetworks, write down your 3 main reasons for wanting to quit. Take the time to read “A Smoker’s Story” by Harry Webster and then act and believe !! Good Luck, looking forward to reading a post from you telling us how you actually quit the damned habit
Already broken your New Year’s resolution to quit smoking?
Go Beyond Nicotine and quit for good…
Quitting smoking is way up there on the global list of New Year’s resolutions. There are a lot of people who seem determined to stub out their last cigarette at the stroke of midnight on December, 31st and never touch one again. And usually, all goes well…for a few minutes, hours, days or a couple of weeks max – and then it’s back to the puffing. While we may make New Year’s resolutions with all good intentions, we are also buying into a fairly predictable cycle of self-sabotage, which loosely follows three stages:
1. The Build Up: begins around the mid-December festive social whirl, when you’ve probably trebled your nicotine intake. Common phrases: ‘Yup, come New Year’s and I’m done with this s**t!’ or ‘As of New Year’s eve, I will officially be a non-smoker!’ These are usually uttered in serious, determined tones, often whilst either aggressively stubbing out a ciggie or looking with disgust at the one you’ve just lit.
2. The Big Night: as the clock strikes midnight and the New Year dawns, you scrunch up the last few ciggies in your packet (if you haven’t chain smoked at double time to finish them already) and shoot it neatly into the nearest bin. You may hear the imaginary strains of ‘Chariots of Fire’ or ‘Eye of the Tiger’ in your head. Levels of smugness run high. You feel strong, you feel invincible – and usually you don’t feel alone, because there are at least two other people going through the same ritual with you.
3. The Aftermath: day one and the realisation of no more ciggies hits home as your body simultaneously rages for its nicotine fix. Emotions run high, depression sets in, and you start ranting about the whole concept of New Year’s resolutions. Common phrases: ‘I’m just human, aren’t I? Just a mere mortal, with weaknesses and foibles! Why the heck do I do this to myself every year?!!’ Often, you’ll confide in a fellow quit-smoking compatriot and, despite initially bolstering each other’s resolve, eventually you will agree together that quitters never win and you’ll lunge out on a smoking spree that would put the Camel man to shame.
And so on it goes. Once you’ve given up on your quit-smoking resolution, you’ll tell yourself that of course you’ll try again…next year. After all, perhaps this year is not a good one to bin the fags – you’re in line for that stressful promotion; your daughter is getting married; you’re studying late into the night…blah, blah, blah. The reality is, you have to really want to give up and you have to want it for YOU. So that you can breathe properly again, taste your food again, undertake an exercise regime that doesn’t end in a fit of hacking wheezes, replace your dull, grey complexion with a bright, healthy glow and basically be around long enough to see your kids grow up and to cuddle your grandkids one day.
If you really want to quit smoking for you then you can do it anytime, anywhere. Make the choice and then follow through: sign up for the Beyond Nicotine 15-day quit smoking programme. Will it be hard? Certainly, at least initially – nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. Will you have support? Definitely – you’ll be guided by an in-depth manual and CD, given concrete tools to help break your habit loops, and have access to regular workshops and online support forums. And on the Beyond Nicotine support forum, you will discover and connect with other quitters who are quietly going about the real business of quitting smoking, by doing it for themselves – not to fit into the self-defeatist cycle of New Year’s resolutions that we all shamefacedly break together each year.
Give Yourself the Gift of Life This Christmas!
Beyond Nicotine 15-day Quit Smoking Programme
If you’re a smoker, then give yourself a priceless gift this Christmas – quit smoking for good! Or perhaps you’re just tired of watching someone you love fading away in a puff of smoke, but don’t know how to help them? Forget about spending tons of money on overpriced, essentially meaningless gifts. If it’s really the thought that counts, give yourself or your loved one the Beyond Nicotine quit smoking programme. You’ll be giving the most priceless gift in the world – the gift of life.
Cigarettes contain hundreds of toxic chemicals and additives, including the highly addictive nicotine, carbon monoxide, tar and phenols, which are also used in detergents and disinfectants. Lung cancer, a host of other cancers and a mile-long list of debilitating diseases and conditions are directly attributed to sucking these noxious chemicals into our systems. Which is why, across the world, one person dies every eight seconds as a result of tobacco use.
Beyond Nicotine is a revolutionary quit smoking programme perfected by Dr Fredéric Paul Motz, renowned South African osteopath, homeopath, acupuncturist, Ayurvedic practitioner and NLP Meta Coach. It is the only quit smoking programme to successfully combine mind/hypno-conditioning, herbal supplements, breathing exercises and other tools, all backed up by a 40-page guide, seminars and ongoing web/blog support and interaction with fellow quitters. This multi-pronged ‘mind and body’ approach has enabled hundreds of smokers to successfully kick their nasty nicotine habit for good.
Here’s what you can expect within minutes of your last cigarette:
• 20 minutes: blood pressure/pulse rate drops, temperature increases in hands and feet
• 8 hours: nicotine levels in your bloodstream drop by 93%
• 10 hours: carbon monoxide levels return to normal and oxygen levels rise
• 24 hours: risk of heart attack drops considerably
• 48 hours: nerve endings regrow, smell and taste senses normalise
• 72 hours: you are now entirely nicotine free!
• 2 weeks: lung function is markedly improved, breathing is easier
• 15 days: you are now physically over nicotine addiction, with a visibly improved complexion, whiter teeth, fresher breath and clearer eyes
A popular quote (attributed to Alice Morse Earle) reads: ‘Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift – that’s why it’s called the present.’ So, this Christmas, give the gift of the Beyond Nicotine 15-day quit smoking programme. That way, you (or someone you love) will get to enjoy the ‘present’ for many more years to come!
whoo hooo its been four weeks now since i quit
from smoking sometimes nearly two packs a day for over 20yrs, i am sure im finally over it, oh and i havnt even had a sneaky smoke when drinking or havnt even bought a ‘loose’ at the shops…
A lady at my work was so impressed that she even bought a beyond nicotine pack and hasnt had a smoke for nearly 2 weeks now, im so chuffed and will gladly recomend this to anybody
I’m on day 10 now and still going strong, the mind games are getting less and it’s becoming easier. I found that green tea helps curb the cravings, actually it’s the hot liquid, normal tea or coffee will also work but the green tea is almost calorie free, and it helps with detox.
OK, 10 days now, 5 started, 3 going after 10 days. One of the dropouts having another go, and still ok after 5 days. But I must tell you the three musketeers are doing fine and I will state I will never smoke again, Im past the worst, and feeling good. Very good. And pressure off me at work, its actually nice to not have to pop outside several times a day. Had a side bet, and couple of six packs coming to me next week!!
Seriously though, this programme makes sense, its been quite easy, and the other two smokeless musks agree. No more nicotine patches, no more gum, I smell nice, and life is fun!
Well done, the first 3 or 4 days are the worst, if you can overcome that then you on your way… Those energade jelly babies really helped me whenever i got a craving, good luck
Five started, four hanging in, two days now and actually not so tough, though the women seem to be finding it harder, one bailed at 10am Monday!
Im going to do it this time, think three of the remaining four will be ok, lip ice is a big help for sweaty hands to find somethingn to do. And this Cashtray idea is good, almost 60 bucks already. Anyone else out there started stopping yesterday?
Wooohooo 15 days without touching a cigarette yaaay
Well good luck to all of you, its not so difficult if you follow the program, i also stopped drinking beer and whisky for my first week and that also seemed to help, today is day 11 without a smoke and im feeling great
Hey, Mike
Myself and so far 4 colleagues are setting a D DAY of MONDAY 18 to start the programme. We have all got the kit, and are getting to a stage where we need to commit, so your view is encouraging. Im super motivated, and maybe your fiancee will join us on the day? We can encourage each other, and draw strength. We’ve also got a bit of a side bet going, 6 pack to be paid in for each day one of us has a puff after Monday.
I’ve been smoking for about 25yrs now, have tried everything from Zyban, patches, sprays, drops, you name it, nothing helped, up until 9 days ago i was smoking about 40 a day… Then i was given a Beyond Nicotine pack with the pills, cd etc. I decided on a date and the rest is history, have not even had a sneaky smoke, cravings were bad but the hypnotism and meditation helped me through as did the tablets… now I’m trying to get my fiance to stop smoking… still early days but i will keep you posted
Don’t know about you, but as a smoker I find it’s becoming harder and harder to have a puff. At work, the non smoke area has been moved from the central garden, which was quite pleasant, (but is now off limits), to a barren car park. So, several times a day we all troop out, stand in the wind and rain, have our fix and feel thoroughly pissed off.
I complained to my manager, and her response was “So why not quit?”
At first I was enraged, furious. Did the company not value me as an employee, and see to my needs? Should I not resign, and offer my services elsewhere? Did the firm deserve me or not?
So I confronted the manager, who actually was this time very accommodating, and put management’s view into perspective. This was as follows:
The company values its staff, and encourages them to be healthy. The no smoke areas are Government rules, not the company’s, and if not enforced the company was liable for really steep fines. And the company wishes smokers would quit because if they added up the 15 minutes of each of the 5 or 6 smoke breaks a day, the lost time is considerable.
Explained that way, I think I understand, and maybe its time to finally stop smoking. But do I have the will power? If enough office workers are keen to join me, I’ll have a go. Let’s all have a try together? Let me know who is interested.
What an amazing concept – being addiction free!! WOW
